Quality puts Summerfields homes with large gardens cut above rest
Irish Examiner – Saturday, March 17, 2007
THE good thing about the Summerfields estate is the small size of the development and the large size of the gardens, says selling agent, Liz Hannon of Cobh.
And she is enthusiastic about the quality of the build, too, citing the previous good work of local developer, Alan Bardsley.
That matters in a town as cohesive as Cobh and, after all, the builder has to live with his creation.
In this case, he needn’t worry, she says, as the scheme is shaping up to be one of the nicest in town.
Designed by Roderick Hogan and Associates and located close to Cobh Hospital, this mixed scheme is in its second phase with just 12 units left to sell…….
Idyllic house by the bay holds plenty of sway
Irish Examiner – Saturday, MAY 28TH, 2011
At Bayview House Tommy Barker finds a harbour hillside property that brightly lives up to promise of the site’s prospect — exceptional.
GIVE an architect well-known for really high quality homes over a 20-year career to-date (and who also is clearly a perfectionist) a site with a stunning southerly harbour setting and the chances are the outcome will be special.
So, no surprises at Bayview House — it is as good as you could possibly hope for.
And, now, the finished to the n-th degree family home of architect Patrick O’Hanlon (the second he and his wife Elizabeth have done together) is up for sale via agent Catherine McAuliffe of Savills, who guides the outstanding one-off at a market-savvy €920,000, as the owners decide to see what they and their family of five will tackle and build for a third time around…….
Prayers are answered for Glen Corrin developer
Irish Examiner -Saturday, March 21, 2009
CAN you call back, I’m just selling a house?” said builder Alan Bardsley when the Irish Examiner buzzed him on Monday last.
We, of course, dropped the phone (you’d hardly begrudge a few pence phone call to any good builder these days, when there’s a chance of a sale,) and when we made contact again half an hour later a deal was done, the second sale in a matter of days, all before a showhouse officially opens this weekend.
Builder Alan Bardsley wasn’t spoofing; the property market mightn’t be in full flow but it has a pulse and he’s scored a few good sale successes with his Glen Corrin, Watergrasshill development on the Cork-Fermoy road……..
Live the high life in Cork
Irish Examiner – Saturday, April 02, 2011
ome with nine serviced sites just new to market — while another offering, lower down the harbour area, at Little Island also has five ready-to-go sites for sale.
Developers O’Brien and O’Flynn are first up, selling the nine, good-sized Silversprings sites for contemporary, extensively-glazed homes in the former grounds of the Moran Silversprings Hotel, up by the Source Leisure Centre and swimming pool.
Design is by Dennehy and Dennehy Architects, for houses of 2,350 to 2,500 and 3,080 sq ft.
Selling agents are Sheila O’Flynn and Michael O’Donovan, of Sherry FitzGerald, who’ve had a recent good run of house site sales in the greater city area, around Lovers’ Walk and Glaunthaune, in the €220,000/€250,000 price bracket and “there’s definitely an appetite for sites for one-offs here,” says O’Donovan…….
